Catari and the Pixar World in Barcelona
A 3,000 m2 structure that made this immersive experience possible
Catari played a key role in the success of the Pixar World event in Barcelona in August 2024, providing large-scale technical infrastructure, including platforms, ramps, and public access stairs. The immersive exhibition allowed visitors to step into the iconic Pixar world.
The Pixar World event, hosted in Barcelona, is an immersive and interactive exhibition that allows visitors to experience the most iconic scenes and characters from Pixar’s famous animated films. Organized by Proactiv Entertainment, this cultural experience has been a resounding success, attracting over 250,000 visitors just weeks after its opening.
To bring the exhibition to life, it was necessary to construct a 3,000 m2 horizontal platform upon which all the themed sets and scenic spaces were built. Catari provided the substructure using the Catari US® scaffolding system, as well as Public Stairs, ensuring safe and efficient access for exhibition visitors. Additionally, several secondary structures were implemented to serve logistical and service areas, ensuring the event’s organization and functionality.
Another notable highlight is the collaboration with Grupo Plus, responsible for designing an aluminum vaulted structure with a 45-meter span, specially created for this event. The aesthetic finish is also worth mentioning: the black exterior guarantees a sophisticated environment, while the wenge brown-toned platform creates a warm and welcoming atmosphere, exactly as requested by the client.
